Dr Joseph Paino's has extensive experience in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry, Invisalign (straight teeth-no braces) and Prosthetic Implant Dentistry. He is particularly excited about the wonderful advancements in high tech computerised methods to straighten crooked teeth without braces that is almost completely invisible! This procedure is known as Invisalign®.

Dr Joseph Paino is pleased to see so many patients from rural, interstate and international destinations on a regular basis. Patients as far as New York, Queensland, Sydney, Adelaide, Benalla, Portsea, Portland, Shepparton, Bright etc visit the practice on a periodic basis. He also routinely sees the local business and residential community in the St Kilda Road precinct.

Working in the St Kilda Road region since 1995 Joseph has been able to provide the ultimate care for several generations of patients that have remained in the same dental practice since the early 1950's. Many of these long established patients still visit the dental practice for their six monthly routine check-up and clean almost every weekday.
These patients were once superbly cared for by Dr Joseph Paino's predecessor -: Dr Peter Finch, who originally located the dental practice on the corner of Burke and Toorak Roads, Melbourne. Dr Peter Finch always aimed to save teeth in the days when many others lost their teeth. Dr Joseph Paino has continued this caring philosophy and through word-of-mouth has retained many of those patients and their families over several generations from almost every suburb in Melbourne.

Dr Max has extensive experience and is particularly excited by the provision of “smile makeovers” and in the skill of reducing patient anxiety.

Dr Mayur (Max) qualified from Kings College, University of London in 1995. He gained further qualifications in America and then worked in general practice in Kent and then Hertfordshire. He became the Principal Dental Surgeon of The Wigmore Dental Clinic in April 1999. Since then he has gained further training in Intravenous Sedation techniques, Cosmetic Dentistry and Oral Surgery.

In 2001, as the Clinic’s reputation for quality care grew, he expanded the Clinic in order to meet demand.

His interests outside Dentistry include sports and more sports! He plays squash, badminton and golf with a passion (present handicap 12!!). He is an avid Liverpool FC fan and went to Turkey in May 2005 to watch them win the European Cup!

Dr Martin Wilkening has vast experience in the field of Oral Surgery. He is specially trained and has extensive experience in dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, oro-maxillofacial surgery, and complex tooth removals (extractions). He is particularly excited about providing the most advanced surgical methods in a relaxed, high tech environment.

In the field of Implant Dentistry, Dr Martin has up to date knowledge and training in the most successful implant systems now available and works in close association with either Dr Joseph Paino or Dr Mayur Patel. Dr Martin will also organise a general anesthetic for you if you need to be 'asleep' while having any teeth removed including wisdom teeth removal, jaw surgery or placement of dental implants.

Dr Martin Wilkening graduated in dentistry from the University of Göttingen, Germany in 1994. He received his “Dr. med. dent.” (Doctor medicinae dentariae) degree for research in the field of Neuropathology in 2000. He received his license to practice dentistry in Australia in 2003. He undertook specialist training in Oral Surgery and received the Board Certification in Oral Surgery in Berlin, Germany in 2005.

He is a member of the German Association of Oral Surgeons and the International Team of Implantology. He has been working at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department since 2005 and holds currently a part-time position there. He has been married since 1995 and has a young son. His practice is restricted to Oral Surgery.
