| Frequently
Asked Questions
What
Kind of people have cosmetic dental treatments?
People
like you. Cosmetic dentistry is no longer just for
models and film stars. With revolutionary new minimally
invasive techniques and painless treatments, cosmetic
dentistry is now readily accessible for almost anyone
who is unhappy with the appearance of their teeth.
|
|

Will
it be obvious I have had cosmetic dental treatment?
This
depends on how radical the changes are but usually people
who know you well will notice the improvement to your smile.
Others will notice how good you now look but often find
it hard to tell why. And those who have never met you before
will just think you have great teeth!

 |
How
can I be confident I am choosing the right cosmetic
Dentist?
Our
cosmetic dentist is fully qualified with over 20 years
of experience and is a member of the Australian Society
of Dental Aesthetics, Australian Dental Association
and International Association for Dental Research.
We
will design any changes to your smile in advance utilising
techniques such as before and after models of your
teeth, instant mock ups and computer imaging. We will
also show you photographic portfolios of actual treatments
provided.
Only when you are fully confident with your dentist
and the cosmetic dental solutions offered will you
choose to go ahead with treatment.
|

Do
I need to inform my existing dentist of the treatment being
carried out?
You
are not legally required to inform your current dentist
but you may wish to out of courtesy. Clients are welcome
either to continue to visit us or return to their current
dentist for their routine dental care.

Is
it expensive?
This
varies depending on the services provided and the
number of teeth treated. The costs reflect the value
of the time taken and the skill of the dentist as
well as the equipment and materials used. Our dental
practice is totally committed to quality hence our
exclusive five
year guarantee.
Our dental practice has thousands of satisfied customers
who are a testament to the value of their investment,
in many cases enhancing quality of life by improving
self-image and self-confidence.
We
understand that our precision quality, exacting standards,
durability, guarantee and of course, our unhurried
and gentle approach is very inexpensive compared to
seemingly cheap prices, ongoing patching, pain, eventual
tooth loss and inferior removable denture teeth. |

|
| Fees
are discussed openly and clients are given a treatment
plan with a full breakdown before you decide to do any
treatment. If you have private health Insurance you
will usually be able to reduce your cost even for many
dental procedures that have been done for cosmetic reasons.
|

How
can I reduce the cost of Dental Treatment even if I don't
have private health insurance?
If
your total out of pocket costs after any health insurance
claims exceeds $1500 a 20% rebate is allowed on the excess
payable upon lodgement of your Australian tax return. This
applies to all dental and medical expenses for yourself
or any dependants (children).
If,
for example, the cost of treatment is $4500 a tax rebate
of $600 will reduce your total fee to $3900 even if you
don't have any private health insurance.
Calculation:
20% X ($4500--$1500) = $600
This
means you will effectively get a $600 discount!
We
advise you confirm these details with your accountant or
the Australian Tax Office in case the current conditions
change. Read below about saving another 5% off by
paying in advance.

Will
the treatment Hurt?
We
endeavour to make the whole experience as relaxed and stress
free as possible. Modern techniques mean that even if you
do require a local anaesthetic, this can be undertaken with
the minimum discomfort.

 |
Do
I have to take special care or change eating habits
after treatment is completed?
Porcelain
veneers and crowns don't stain and are designed to
take as much wear as your natural teeth. But you should
never use your teeth as tools - such as cracking nuts
or opening bottles. Also biting into very hard foods
- such as crushing ice or chewing hard boiled lollies
should always be avoided. Clients should follow a
normal oral hygiene routine to maximise longevity
of their own teeth and any new restorations alike.
|

How
many appointments do I need?
This
depends on what treatment is required after the initial
consultation. As a guide however, major smile improvements,
including porcelain veneers and crowns, can usually be completed
in two to three weeks with only two or three appointments.

How
long will my treatment last?
The longevity of your new smile is directly related to how
well you look after it. An after-care programme will be
recommended to promote the health of your teeth and gums.
As guidance, in the case of veneers, crowns or bridges we
would expect them to last at least 15 years. In fact with
correct maintenance, regular check-ups and avoiding abnormal
dental behaviours such as crushing ice or hard boiled lollies
with your teeth, it is likely your major dental treatment
will last 25 years or even longer.
Your
treatment is backed by our exclusive five
year guarantee for porcelain veneers, crowns and bridges.
